Correspondence from Palm Desert Middle School Recommendation: By Minute Motion, waive fees associated with the Palm Desert Middle School graduation scheduled to be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at the amphitheater located in the Palm Desert Civic Center Park. Executive Summary: Palm Desert Middle School holds a graduation ceremony each year for its eighth grade students at the amphitheater located in the Palm Desert Civic Center Park. This request is identical to those presented in past years. Background: Each year Palm Desert Middle School holds its eighth grade graduation ceremony at the amphitheater located at the Palm Desert Civic Center Park. In order to adequately police the area and provide maintenance services, the City requires that a maintenance worker be assigned to this event. Since graduation is held for the benefit and pleasure of Palm Desert residents, event planners are requesting that the required fee for a Maintenance Worker ($40/hour for four hours) be waived.
