SUBJECT: ALLOCATION OF TWO OFFICE ASSISTANT I POSITIONS FOR THE
VISITOR'S INFORMATION CENTER
DATE: OCTOBER 30, 1998
I. RECOMMENDATION:
Waive further reading and pass Resolution No. 98-125 amending Resolution No. 98-92,
Salary Schedule, Ranges, and Allocated Classifications, establishing two Office Assistant
I positions for the Visitor's Information Center.
II. BACKGROUND:
The 1998/99 Fiscal Year Budget established a Visitor's Information Center Account and
funded the account in the amount of$191,866 for salaries, benefits, supplies, and services.
The City and the Chamber of Commerce planned on implementing a transition from
Chamber provided services to City provided services in October 1998.
The City has successfully recruited and hired a Visitor's Information Center Coordinator,
and desires to recruit and hire two support positions for the Visitor's Information Center. The
FY 1998/99 Budget should be adequate to fund these,two support positions. The City
intended to hire two support positions when we assumed the responsibilities of performing
the Visitor's.Information Center's services__ These two positions are entry level support
positions with salaries at the$1,972 to ;399•-permonthly'salary range.
