Executive Summary: Award of the bid will allow for the construction of the trophy case on the north side of the hallway leading to west exit at the Clubhouse. Discussion: Staff is recommending that the trophy case be constructed to provide a safe area for Desert Willow mementos. The original Clubhouse construction was to include a trophy case but was deleted due to budget constraints. The proposed trophy case is similar to the one originally proposed and recommended by Impact Interiors. A cherry hardwood will be utilized with the finish to match Desert Willow cabinet interior. The case will be 8' tall by 16' long, and will sit on the north wall of the hallway leading to the western exist of the Clubhouse. In the original plans for the Desert Willow clubhouse, a trophy case was planned for the wall space between the golf shop entrance and the Turnstand snack bar. Its construction was eliminated from the final plans due to budget concerns. As a consequence, there is no appropriate place to display the various trophies accumulated over the past 3 years. The design of the trophy case will enhance the area and fill a void now presently occupied by the occasional painting or photo. It will be constructed of the same wood materials used for the snack bar and compliment the copper theme. It is our recommendation that the local Palm Desert company, Yankee Workshop, be given the assignment, with a low bid of $13,015 (bid summary attached). RECEIVED JUN 2 2003 . .
