CALL TO ORDER A Regular Meeting of the Library Taskforce was called to order by Deputy Clerk Nance on Monday, January 22, 2024, at 12:31 p.m. in the Administrative Conference Room, City Hall, located at 73-510 Fred Waring Drive, Palm Desert, California 2. ROLL CALL Present: Taskforce Members Jann Buller, Randy Bynder, Matt Johnson, John Maldonado, Carol Marcuse*, Paul Murphy, and Ralph Perry *Taskforce member Marcuse participated remotely in accordance to AB 2449. Absent: Taskforce Member Karen Gonzales Liaison(s) Present: Jan Harnik and Evan Trubee, Councilmember Liaisons Staff Present: Chris Escobedo, Assistant City Manager; Gary Shaffer, Director of Library Services, Shannon Vonnegut, Assistant Director of Library Services; and Michelle Nance, Recording Secretary 3. NON-AGENDA PUBLIC COMMENT Ron Heath, of Disabled American Veterans, urged the continuation of services currently provided to veterans at the Palm Desert Public Library. 4. DISCUSSION/ACTION CALENDAR A. B. LIBRARY TASKFORCE MEMBERS None. C.CITY COUNCIL LIAISONS Councilmember Trubee spoke on the importance of maintaining a local history collection at the new library. D.
