HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 90-33 Street Name Change Section Hwy 74 Frontage Road I INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM TO: City Manager and City Council FROM: Richard J. Folkers, Asst. City Manager/Public Works Director SUBJECT: STREET NAME CHANGE FOR A SECTION OF HIGHWAY 74 FRONTAGE ROAD. DATE: March 22, 1990 RECOMMENDATION: Waive further reading and adopt Resolution No._90-33 setting a public hearing to consider a street name change for the Highway 74 Frontage Road starting at Indian Hills Way north to the dead end. BACKGROUND: The Public Works Department received a letter from the Nicholas Development Corporation, on behalf of the Mesa View Partners, requesting the naming of the frontage road section along the east side of Highway 74 starting at Indian Hills Way to the dead end in the Mesa View Estates. This section of frontage road is approximately one quarter mile in length, fronts only the Indian Hills Homeowners Association and is not a through road. With the new housing development at the end of this frontage road section, a street name is desirable and compatible with the City's growth. Deliveries to this area have been misrouted and delayed due to the road being identified only as Highway 74 Frontage Road. The Indian Hills Homeowners Association has been contacted. They support the naming of this section of frontage road and have no objection to the selected name. The Public Works staff recommends that the frontage road section along the east side of Highway 74 starting at Indian Hills Way north to the dead end be named Vista Viejo Drive. 411, RICHA•D J.
