Folkers, Assistant City Manager/Public Works Director SUBJECT: ANNUAL ASSESSMENT FOR LANDSCAPING & LIGHTING DISTRICT NO. 2 (TRACT 11636 -- CANYON COVE) DATE: May 24, 1990 RECOMMENDATION By minute motion, adopt Resolution No. 9 0-5 2 setting a public hearing for the purpose of levying and collecting assessments for fiscal year 1990-91 for the subject assessment district. BACKGROUND This existing landscaping and lighting district is formed within Tract No. 11636, commonly known as the Canyon Cove development. The City Council ordered the formation of this district in 1979, and additional phases of the tract were annexed in 1983. This annexation of phases 2 through 5 were dissolved by the City Council in 1984. In May and June 1988, the annexation of Tract Nos. 11636-2 through 11636-4 F. Tract 23485 was completed. The district was formed to pay the costs of street lighting within the district and for the maintenance of landscaped areas along Highway 74 and Haystack Road adjacent to the Canyon Cove development. Assessments to cover the costs associated with the district must be levied at the first regular Council meeting in June, as specified in the California Streets and Highways Code. At this meeting, staff will present a plan explaining the maintenance level for the 1990-91 assessment. Public Works staff recommends adoption of the resolution setting the annual public hearing for this assessment district. if .� RICHARD J. FOLKER. P.E.
