COUNTRY CLUB NEIGHBORHOOD PARK
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council authorize the Mayor to enter into an easement agreement with Southern
California Edison for the Palm Desert Country Club Neighborhood Park.
DISCUSSION:
Southern California Edison is requesting that the City enter into an easement agreement
along with with the Palm Desert Country Club Association for electrical service at the Palm
Desert Country Club Neighborhood Park site. The easement will serve both the park and the
Sprint communication tower. The City is party to the easement agreement due to the City's
existing site lease with the association.

Honorable Mayor Crites:
Southern California Edison Company (Edison) has retained MARMAC to acquire rights of way
to install Edison's electric distribution facilities.
In response to a request for electric service by Sprint PCS, we will need an easement to permit
the construction and maintenance of electric facilities to Sprint's cell phone site located at 77800
California in Palm Desert. The enclosed assessor's parcel map shows the location of the
proposed easement. This property is under lease from the City of Palm Desert to the Palm City
Association. We have discussed this project with them and accordingly, attained signatures on
the Grant of Easement document. To conclude this project, we will need your review of and
signature on the enclosed Grant of Easement (this document contains "live" signatures by Palm
City Association).
You will also find enclosed a plat of the easement area and one copy of the Grant of Easement.
Please sign the original Grant of Easement,have your signature attested and notarized, and return
to me in the envelope provided. The map and copy of the easement is for your files.

PAGES 29 THROUGH 36 OF MAPS, IN THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY RECORDER OF SAID COUNTY, SAID
STRIPS BEING DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:

property. The Grantee,and its contractors,agents and employees, shall have the right to trim or cut tree roots as may endanger or
interfere with said systems and shall have free access to said systems and every part thereof, at all times, for the purpose of

exercising the rights herein granted; provided, however, that in making any excavation on said property of the Grantor, e
Grantee shall make the same in such a manner as will cause the least injury to the surface of the ground around such excavation,
and shall replace the earth so removed by it and restore the surface of the ground to as near the same condition as it was prior to
