HomeMy WebLinkAboutPD Resident Card - DWGC CO MEMORANDUM TO: HONORABLE MAYOR & MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM: DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS/CITY CLERKS SUBJECT: RESIDENT CARDS/DESERT WILLOW GOLF COURSE DATE: JANUARY 9, 1997 Recommendation: By Minute Motion, approve the recommended policy,and direct the City Manager to implement same. Discussion: The marketing subcommittee of the Desert Willow Committee recommends the following policy for golf course resident cards: 1. In order to take advantage of discounted green fees, Palm Desert residents will be asked to obtain a "Resident Card" from the Y.M.C.A. This picture identification card will cost $10/year per applicant, and monies raised from the issuance of the cards will be kept by the Y.M.C.A. to cover its costs. 2. Residents will be asked to provide a copy of a utility bill as well as his/her driver's license to prove Palm Desert residency. 3. No discounts will be provided to any user of the golf course who does not have a "Resident Card". The City's ad agency is working with Kemper Golf in the design of the subject card which will be available to residents on Monday, February 10, 1997.
