This proposal is based on the previously submitted preliminary concepts, reviewed by the Civic Center committee. In August of 1989, you authorized my office to prepare a conceptual plot plan for additions to the Civic Center. This was done, at a cost of $760. 00 . In September of 1989, the Council authorized my office to proceed with preliminary plans for the above Civic Center expansion. ( September 28 ,1989 Council meeting) . These preliminary plans are being completed, with an approved quotation of $20 , 000 . 00 . (my letter of September 9 , 1989 ) . This proposal is for architectural-engineering working drawings and specifications, necessary to provide the city with documents sufficient to request bid proposals. A more formal agreement form can be eventually used to itemize the necessary parts of services . The project essentally is as follows: A. Two wings of building additions . ( 1 ) Administration wing to the north, approx. 10, 000 sq. ft. ( 2) Public works/Engineering wing to the east, approx. 10, 000 sq. ft. A preliminary cost estimate for each wing would be at $110 . 00 per sq. ft. or $1,100,000 .00 for each wing or $2, 200, 000 . 00 for both. Written specifications for all the above. C. Calculations for Structural and Title 24 requirements . The proposal fee for the above is as follows : A. Working drawings and specifications: ( 1 ) Administration wing $38,000 . 00 ( 2 ) Public Works wing $38 ,000 .00 B. Bidding of documents: ( 1 ) Administration wing $3,800 . 00 (2 ) Public Works wing $3,800 . 00 C. Construction Administration: ( 1 ) Administration wing $14, 000. 00 ( 2 ) Public Works wing $14, 000 . 00 Not included in the above services are the following; A. Reproduction of documents for bidding. B. Soils Investigation Report. C. Materials Testings and Masonry Laboratory observations. D. Artist renderings. You may wish to consider authorization of working drawings and specifications portions only, leaving the bidding and construction administration for a later date.
