To: Carlos L. Ortega, City Manager From: Sheila R. Gilligan, Assistant City Manager for Community Services Date: May 10, 2001 Subject: Recycling Programs Attached is a memorandum from Frankie Riddle relative to her investigation into recycling at City-owned housing complexes. As you can see, four of the seven properties currently have no bins for recycling; the three that do offer recycling do not currently have adequate bins. Frankie will continue working with Waste Management to come up with a resolution to these deficiencies. She is also working with College of the Desert to establish an improved program there and is doing so with a grant application. Since this is a City Council follow-up, would you like it to be agendized for information at a future eeting? as let me know. S EILA R.
