TO: City Council and City Manager
FROM: Richard J. Folkers, Assistant City Manager/Public Works Director
SUBJECT: RESOLUTION ADOPTING RECYCLING POLICY
DATE: May 11 , 1989
RECOMMENDATION:
By minute motion, adopt Resolution No. 89-48 approving the recycling
policy for the City of Palm Desert.
BACKGROUND:
The City of Palm Desert has taken the leading role in recycling in the
Coachella Valley, as well as Riverside County. At the regular City Council
meeting of April 27, 1989, the recycling policy was discussed and staff was
directed to develop a resolution for the subject policy to set forth the
guidelines and goals of future recycling programs.
The attached resolution supports the recycling policy to provide an action
by the City Council for long-term direction and guidance for the development and
implemention to the staff, as well as the citizens of our community.
Public Works staff recommends adoption of Resolution No. 89-48 setting
forth the recycling policy for the City of Palm Desert.
