Adopt the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) scoring and Park Maintenance Evaluations for all City parks. 2. Provide Park Scoring Sheets for all City parks by December 31, 2024. BACKGROUND/ANALYSIS: Each month, Committee members are responsible to submit their assigned monthly parks reports. The reports typically state what each Committee member observed including photos. At the May 7, 2024, Parks and Recreation Committee meeting, staff stated that KPI scoring will be added to each monthly park report. The parks will be scored according to set factors for an overall rating. Staff will then report the percentage of parks that received a score of 80 percent or higher. The park scoring sheet will have a rating scale of 1-10, with 1 being the lowest and 20 being the highest. Below are the set factors with a brief description. 1. Cleanliness – Is the park well-maintained (restrooms, graffiti, trash, etc.) 2. Landscaping and Trees – Is landscaping well-maintained, trees trimmed, no overgrown vegetation, weeds, leaves, is there enough shade, etc. 3. Park Utilization – Number of people, organized sports, weather, etc. 4. Equipment and Functionality – Are all park amenities in good working condition/operational, enough shade, are additional amenities required. 5. Overall – Amenities, positive experience, relevant to community, flexible, sustainability, parking, etc. Each Committee member will be responsible for scoring every City Park by the end of the year (December 31, 2024). Starting in 2025, each Committee member will be reassigned dedicated parks every 6-months and will continue the scoring/reporting process.
