DIAZ, CITY MANAGER SUBJECT: REQUEST TO POSTPONE PAYMENT OF HOUSING MITIGATION FEE PDH Associates Inc. (Developers of Courtyard and Residence Inn)requests that this fee be paid at the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy. The attached letter sets forth the reason for this request. Housing Manager Terre LaRocca does not have a problem with the request. We have permitted the permits to be issued pending decision on the request. All public improvements have been bonded and these bonds can be kept until the fee is paid. Further, we have the ultimate control by withholding the applicant's right to utilize the facility. With the new room count, the fee for Low Income Housing for our project aggregates to a total of $281,000 If the City agrees we propose to pay this fee at the C of 0. The interest saved will help our stressed budget. Grading is almost complete and we would like to pull the Building Permits within the next 7-10 days.
