While the legislation will not take effect until January of 1999, the Riverside Transportation Commission wishes to have the newly constituted commission operating, albeit without legal authority, by September in order to hold issue workshops etc. for the newly appointed Commissioners in the fall. Therefore, the Commission is requesting that you make your appointment of a Palm Desert Councilperson to the Commission as soon as possible and forward that information to: Eric Haley, Executive Director Riverside County Transportation Commission 3560 University Avenue, Suite 100 Riverside, CA 92501 . We would suggest that for the sake of continuity, your appointment be either your representative to the CVAG Executive Committee, or your CVAG Transportation Committee representative or your Sunline Transit Agency representative. Once your appointee is designated, it would be helpful if you could let the CVAG Transportation Department know the name of the Palm Desert representative.
