Executive Summary: Palm Desert Middle School holds a graduation ceremony each year for its eighth grade students at the amphitheater located in the Palm Desert Civic Center Park. This request is identical to those presented in past years. Background: Eachyear Palm Desert Middle School holds its eighthgradegraduation ceremonyat the 9 amphitheater located at the Palm Desert Civic Center Park. In order to adequately police the area and provide maintenance services, the City requires that a maintenance worker be assigned to this event. Since graduation is held for the benefit and pleasure of Palm Desert residents, event planners are requesting that the required fee for a Maintenance Worker ($40/hour for four hours) be waived. Staff recommends approval of this request, which is to waive the fees associated with prod tion of this event on June 8, 2004, at a total cost of $160.00.
