Dear epeck:
We ar writing on behalf of the Palm Desert Senior Softball League. Matthew Harding,
Sports Coordinator, with the Coachella Valley Recreation & Parks Department has
requested that we inform the City of our plans for our softball league.
We plan to start our winter league on January 15, 2002 through March 26, 2002.
We will have a total of ten teams in the league with an average of twelve people on each
roster with eight teams playing at Palm Desert Civic Center. We will have games on
Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. and we will use all four fields at the Civic Center complex.
I have been informed the amount to prepare a field is $15.00. We will be using all four
fields at a cost of$60.00 per week or$660.00 for the eleven weeks. The Palm Desert
Senior Softball League is asking the City of Palm Desert to waive the fees for the field
preparation for us again this year.
We will inform Mr. Harding and make all the necessary plans through him and the
Coachella Valley Recreation& Parks Department.
The recent work on the infields has improved them and removed the problem with the lip.
On the infields the water appears to be a problem but we are hopeful you can solve this
problem so we don't incur any injuries or lose this new infield soil when the wind blows.
We thank you and look forward to our association with the City of Palm Desert and to
another successful league at Palm Desert Civic Center.
Sincerely,
Robert Dakin, Commissioner George Anas, A istant Commissioner
