Mayor Spiegel, Councilmember Benson, and Councilman Ferguson interviewed applicants for
appointments to the various City Committees and Commissions. Their recommendations are as
follows:

There are still vacancies to be filled as follows: •
One position on the Project Area 4 Committee. Carlos Ortega is recruiting for this position
as it needs to be someone living within the area.
The Las Serenas position on the Housing Commission. Terre LaRocca is recruiting for this
position.
One regular position and one alternate position on the Rent Review Commission. To date,
we have no applicants. We will include a story in the January newsletter to try to recruit
applicants for these two positions.
Sister City Committee. Staff will be presenting a program of reorganization for this
committee in January. Three people have applied to serve on this board, and once the
program is approved, Council will be asked to interview them. We will also include a story
in the newsletter to recruit additional applicants.
