INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM To: Honorable Mayor and City Council From: Jeff Winklepleck, Parks and Recreation Planning Manager Date: April 11 , 2002 Subject: Homme/Adams Park construction update Following is a detailed update for the items related to the Homme/Adams Park construction: 1. CVWD access road widening and polymer application: Contreras Brothers Construction is scheduled to begin moving the palm logs and widening the road on Monday, April 8,2002. In addition, they will be installing a temporary access road from the parking lot to South Cliff Road which will be used when the dust polymers are applied. The acrylic polymers will be applied on approximately April 22, 2002. 2 Excesspalm logs: WasteManagementof the Desert ese continues to remove 9g the excess palm logs from the site. A number of the logs will be retained in case replacements are necessary as part of the widening. After the widening is complete, the remaining logs will be removed. 3. West park boundary fencing: Complete 4. Monument sign: Materials have been ordered and installation of stone will occur week of April 8, 2002. Channel barrier: Wood crete fence product does not meet the required specifications to serve as an automobile barrier for the channel. Quotes are being solicited for the installation of the steel cable and post barrier as approved by the City Council. All quotes are to be received by April 12, 2002 and installation should begin by the end of April. 8. Final site design: Design of landscaping, irrigation, etc. being coordinated with the City's Landscape Manager. Recontouring of site to remove existing roads, trails, etc. will be included.
