PURPOSE OF THE STUDY SESSION IS INFORMATION ONLY. ��PNIN01U ON REOYO[(O PAPER PRESENTED TO: CITY COUNCIL CITY OF PALM DESERT JUNE 26, 2019 BACKGROUND/UPDATE INPUT RECEIVED FROM OWNERS DESIGN OPTIONS OPEN DISCUSSION QUESTIONS/ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR STAFF Rebuilt in 1997 In 2003, the property owners re-established BID. In 2006, city proposed minor renovation but abandoned. In 2007, city analyzed the concept of building two parking structures but abandoned. In 2014, city adopted a resolution to use $8 million bond proceeds. In 2016, a study session was conducted to discuss design to incorporate pocket parks and open spaces In 2017, a second study session was held to discuss reconstruction options and then the City Council approved the pocket park concept with 75 spaces reduction. Option 2 — Reconstruct parking lots based on approved concept Option 3 — Reconstruct parking lots with reduced pocket parks Option 4 — Reconstruction parking lots w/o center pocket parks and mini roundabout.
