Re: Proposed Interchange at Portola Avenue and 1-10 Freeway
Dear Corky,
As you know the city of Palm Desert and the County of Riverside had applied
unsuccessfully last year for a grant to do the feasibility study for an over crossing.
Recently the City Council discussed this matter during the review Fiscal year 2002-2003
budget. They felt that an interchange is more appropriate than an over crossing.
Since the process to do either project usually takes many years, we feel that now is the
time to start. Carlos Ortega, our City Manager met with Supervisor Wilson to discuss a
joint project recently. We are therefore requesting that this matter be brought to CVAG
for funding consideration. Thank you for help and support on past projects, and we look
forward to a speedy, successful project with Cal Trans, FHWA, CVAG, the County of
Riverside and ourselves.
Sincerely,
k_...._
