Unfortunately this property is not on the list of required so the previous property owner would not have been required to connect. Obviously there is some confusion with the fees being paid to the water district. Sandra from CVWD has indicated that you would not be required to pay the connection fees if you decide to connect now. If you want to move forward with connecting please submit a complete building permit application, site plan (must include the clean out) and the pump receipt and I will be happy to issue a sewer permit today. Let me know if you have any questions. Tamika said I need to email you. You may have already heard from Sandra Via Lobos at CVWD last week. We are trying to determine as soon as possible what permit(s) history you shown for our property regarding sewer conection. Here’s the dire situation below: · We had a major plumbing issue since the 4th of July – and have had NO plumbing now for over a week. · Plumbers found this property is on septic. · We bought the house almost 4 years ago and the previous owner disclosed that we are connected to SEWER, no septic. · CVWD (Sandra) said her records show it’s been connected to sewer since 1977. Tax bills show sewer charges all these years. · I was told the City recorded a notice on all lots that states when a property is sold, it has to be connected to sewer. There was no such recorded notice that our title company could find, which required that when a property transferd ownership, proof of sewer connection with the city was mandatory before close of escrow. (quite possibly the owner, who inherited the property from her aunt who was original owner, called and asked and was told it was connected to city sewer. · We now have an open ditch in the yard, we have 3 companies coming to bid on sewer connection today. We can deal with how this could happen later, our main focus is to get our plumbing back and connection done IMMEDIATELY. · Please let us know as soon as possible what permit history you have from 1977 forward on any sewer connection. If you can call me direct, that would be much appreciate. Thank you for your immediate attention. WE NEED TO APPLY FOR A PERMIT TODAY IF YOU DO NOT SHOW ONE ISSUED.
