Can you please follow up with Juan about the Joint Metro City opportunity. This is the one that we need to do our Action Plan this year, but hopefully 24/25 be able to transfer admin
to the County. Put it on his radar so we can ensure we do not miss the deadline again.
Chris, the ESG program I am not familiar with. We’ve used HOME funds previously, but the administrative headache makes it challenging. I told Todd that I would share this w you in
case you were interested in ESG funding.
Jess, not sure if you want to use HOME again…but they are offering, so FYI. I did explain briefly to Todd, the challenges associated.

Good Morning Mr. Hileman,
I’m reaching out to inform you that we mailed out the attached letter requesting the city to confirm whether the city would like to join the County Urban program which would allow the
County to apply for CDBG/ESG/HOME funds to HUD on behalf of the city. We currently have 15 cities in the County that participate in the County’ program and would like to sit down with
the city to go over the advantages of partnering with the County. The County handles all the administration work that come with applying for these HUD program funds, including the
annual reporting. Also, if the city isn’t a large city, the city must apply for HOME funds to the State and a lot of cities don’t apply for these funds to the state. HOME funds provide
vital funding for development of affordable housing and it also funds the County’s down payment assistance program (https://rivcoeda.org/First-Time-Home-Buyer-Program/First-Time-Home-Buyer-Program
<https://protect-us.mimecast.com/s/8-DSCzpN5DCrAp5i49bvg> ). By joining the County, the City’s HOME allocation (approximately $170,790) would come directly to the County instead of
the State and city would be able to offer the County’s down payment assistance program to its residents and affordable housing developer looking to build housing in the city could apply

If you could please review the attached letter and confirm whether the city would like to join the County program by signing and returning the “Notice of Participation” form. If the
city opts to join the County program, we will be forwarding a cooperating agreement at a later date.
