RE: City of Palm Desert: Funding for Construction of new University Site
Dear Congressman Calvert,
I am writing in support of the City of Palm Desert’s application for Community Project Funding to support the planning and design of the City’s proposed future California State University
Palm Desert Campus.
Over the past decade, the City of Palm Desert has demonstrated unwavering dedication to fostering the advancement and expansion of the California State University San Bernardino’s Palm
Desert Campus. Our enduring dedication to our longstanding partnership has been demonstrated by the donation of land for the campus's development and ongoing support for its growth
and prosperity. With new residential developments nearby and enhancements to student services on campus, both the City and the Campus are poised to embark on an ambitious initiative:
the creation of over 50 acres of pristine parkland directly on the campus grounds. These green spaces will not only enrich the environment but also serve as shared amenities for both
the public and university communities. Recognizing the vital importance of this endeavor to our community, securing federal funding stands as a crucial initial stride toward realizing
this vision.
