Dear Senator Padilla, Senator Schiff, and Congressman Calvert, I am requesting your support in securing funding for the Fire Station Rebuild Project in the City of Palm Desert. This project involves demolishing the existing fire station and constructing a new, larger facility to better serve the community’s needs. The current fire station has a footprint of 6,296 sq. ft., while the new proposed building will be 8,970 sq. ft. and will feature a two-story design. Design is currently ongoing, with an approximate 12-month construction schedule. Construction is estimated to begin in April 2026, and the total cost of the project is estimated at $8 million. This rebuild will provide the necessary space and facilities to ensure that the fire department can effectively respond to emergencies and continue to serve the community safely and efficiently. This project is essential to improving public safety and emergency response in the City of Palm Desert. By rebuilding the fire station with a larger, two-story facility, it will provide the space and modern amenities needed to support the growing community. The upgraded station will enhance the efficiency of emergency services, ensuring faster and more effective response times. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
