RE: Request for Support for City of Palm Desert’s Veteran's Resource Center.
Dear Senator Padilla, Senator Schiff, and Congressman Calvert,
I am requesting your support in securing funding for the community funding project in the City of Palm Desert. This project involves the development of a new, multi-purpose space that
will include essential community services and resources. The facility will have a total floor area of 25,892 square feet and will feature shared spaces such as Veterans Services, Friends
of the Library, CVAG Meetings, Special Programs “Green Room,” and a Maker Space. The project will offer a Visitor Center, Café, and a Demonstration Kitchen to further enhance the services
available to residents.
Design and planning for the project are currently underway, and construction is anticipated to begin with a projected 12-month construction schedule. The total cost for the project is
estimated at $30 million. This new facility will provide valuable spaces that support local programs, foster community engagement, and improve access to vital services for residents.
This project is essential to enhancing community engagement, accessibility, and the overall well-being of Palm Desert residents. By creating these dedicated spaces, the facility will
support local programs, provide necessary resources, and strengthen the community’s connection to vital services and activities.
