During inspections, several Tier 2 generators remained hesitant to donate surplus food. Most commonly, they indicated that they had no excess available for donation. Staff addressed
this through
targeted, reflective questions to help identify potential donation opportunities, such as produce that may not meet visual presentation standards for guests or surplus items resulting
from over-ordering for seasonal menus.
For grant reporting purposes, an ongoing challenge is the availability of poundage data for the final month of the reporting period. This data is not finalized until after the report
submission deadline; therefore, the figures included in these reports consistently reflect data through the prior month.
The remaining balance of the grant was fully expended prior to the end of this reporting period.
