PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT A PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE HELD BEFORE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, REGARDING
ADOPTION OF THE 2024-2028 PERMANENT LOCAL HOUSING ALLOCATION
FIVE-YEAR PLAN AND AUTHORIZING RESOLUTION
PUBLIC HEARING: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of
Palm Desert, California, will hold a public hearing to consider adoption of the 2024-2028
Permanent Local Housing Allocation Five-Year Plan and a resolution authorizing the
City’s application for and receipt of formula allocation funds. The public hearing will be
held on September 10, 2026, during the City Council meeting beginning at 4:00 p.m. in
the Council Chamber at 73-510 Fred Waring Drive, Palm Desert, California. The
meeting will provide opportunities for the public to attend and comment in person or
remotely. Instructions for remote participation will be included in the posted agenda
available at www.palmdesert.gov/government/meetings.
PLAN DESCRIPTION:
The City is considering adoption of its 2024-2028 Permanent Local Housing Allocation
(PLHA) Five-Year Plan. The proposed Plan would allocate 95 percent of PLHA funds to
Homelessness Assistance Activities serving individuals and households at or below 30
percent of Area Median Income who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, and 5
percent to program administration.
At the public hearing, the City Council will receive comments and consider adoption of
the Five-Year Plan and a related resolution authorizing the City to apply for and receive
PLHA formula funds. The proposed Five-Year Plan will be available for public review
beginning September 4, 2026, on the City website and at Palm Desert City Hall, 73-510
Fred Waring Drive, Palm Desert, California.
COMMENTS ON THE PROPOSED PLAN:
Those wishing to comment on the proposed Five-Year Plan may either appear in
person at the public hearing or submit written comments, which must be received by
10:00 a.m. on the day of the hearing. Written comments should be sent to the City of
Palm Desert, 73-510 Fred Waring Drive, Palm Desert, California 92260, Attention: City
Clerk, or emailed to cityclerk@palmdesert.gov.
