The meeting was called to order at 1 :00 pm after a one hour study session. Carried 4-0-1 . (Commissioner Holden abstaining) It was moved by Commissioner McCrea, seconded by Commissioner Holden to approve minutes of July 14, 1987. Carried 2-0-3. (Chairman Gregory, Commissioner Drury, and Commissioner Cook abstaining) II. Moved by Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner McCrea to approve the following cases which were reviewed at study session by minute motion. Carried 5-0. III. CASES 1. ZONE: O.P. Commission granted approval of redesigned plans as submitted. 6. It was moved by Commissioner Drury, seconded by Commissioner McCrae to grant preliminary approval subject to a resubmittal of a complete set of working drawings of existing building and details on the following: Carried 5-0. 1. Either eliminating the roof top equipment or screening on the office building. 2. How the Mansard roof extension is going to work over the two open bays. 3. How Mansard roof attaches to the rest of the building. 4. Show how the signage meets code. 5. Landscape revision - types of plants, etc. 2. CASE NO: 1338 SA APPLICANT (AND ADDRESS): KOSGARIAN RUG, 73-140 Highway 111 , Palm Desert, CA 92260/CHIEF SIGN CRAFTS, 85-591 Highway III , Coachella, CA 92236. NATURE OF PROJECT/APPROVAL SOUGHT: Approval of sign for suites 1 , 2, and 3. LOCATION: 73-140 Highway III ZONE: C-1 It was moved by Commissioner Drury, seconded by Chairman Gregory to grant conceptual approval subject to resubmittal of the graphics, for the signage on the three suites to be used by the one company. Carried 5-0. B. Preliminary Plians 1. CASE NO: 1333 SA 4 ``.r, MINUTES ARCHITECTURAL COMMISSION JULY 28, 1987 APPLICANT (AND ADDRESS): THE PLAZA ON EL PASEO, 73-061 E1 Paseo, Suite 513, Palm Desert, CA 92260 NATURE OF PROJECT/APPROVAL SOUGHT: Conceptual approval of freestanding awning with signage. LOCATION: El Paseo & Sage ZONE: C-1 Continued at the request of the applicant. 2. CASE NO: PP 87-22 APPLICANT (AND ADDRESS): EL PASEO COLLECTION, 73-061 El Paseo, Suite 513, Palm Desert, CA 92260/HOLDEN & JOHNSON, 44-267 Monterey Avenue, Palm Desert, CA 92260. NATURE OF PROJECT/APPROVAL SOUGHT: Preliminary approval of commercial building remodel , retail/office building. LOCATION: Southeast corner of Highway 74 and El Paseo. ZONE: C-1 Commission felt a study of the traffic circulation was a necessity and that the parking problem has not been completely satisfied. Commissioner Holden commented that an endeavor has been made to work out a reciprocal parking agreement with the Galleria. Commissioner Cook had much concern with the arches and rear views from them (what it looks like through the backs) . It was moved by Commissioner McCrea, seconded by Commissioner Drury to grant conceptual approval subject to resubmittal of plans for tying together the arches at end of building and study of the rear views between the facades of each building.
