I. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 pm.

It was moved by Commissioner Holden, seconded by Commissioner Drury to approve
the minutes of the July 25, 1989, as submitted. Carried 4-0-1 (Commissioner
Sullivan abstained).
II. Moved by O mmi_ssioner Dniry, seconded by McCrea to approve
the following cases by miunrte motion. Carried 5-0.
1. CASE NO: 1545 SA
APPLICANT (AND ADDRESS): TGI FRIDAY'S, 72-620 E1 Paseo, Palm Desert, CA
92260.
NATURE OF PROJECT/APPROVAL SOUGHT: Approval of lights inside the
awnings.
LOCATION: 72-620 El Paseo
ZCNE: PC-3, (S.P. )
Commission approved this case subject to the elimination of bullet lights
above awnings, reduce wattage in roof soffit bulbs to a maximum of 50
watts, continue scallops at the bottom awning runs around to the sides.
2. CASE ND: 1597 SA

6. CASE NO: PP 89-22
APPLICANT (AND ADDRESS): MELANIE PLACE PARTNERS, 73-411 Mariposa

NATURE OF PROJECT/APPROVAL SOUCRT: Preliminary approval of plans for a
16,688 square foot, two-story office building.
LOCATION: East side Melanie Place, north of Sheryl Avenue
ZONE: S.I. (Service Industrial)
Commissioner Sullivan abstained.
III. ORAL CCCTIINICATION S:
Mr. Bedrosian indicated that the drapes at Mama Gina's, Andreino's have
been removed at this time - closed for the summer. Our Place is now
Margo's, who has received written approval from the planning department
with the condition that the drapes are to be kept open at all times. The
Tae Kwon-Do Center is still under investigation.
Chairman Gregory, Commissioners Holden and Sullivan will not be present
for the August 22, 1989, meeting. Due to the lack of a quorum the August
22nd meeting was cancelled.
