Program.
IACATIo[i: 72-620 El Paseo.
ZIE: P.C.-3, (S.P. )
Mr. Smith infornled the applicant of the concerns mentioned by the
camtissian during study session.
The applicant infomied cannission that the awn; program is being
changed an al l TGI F`riday's restaurants. There are two reasons for
the awriing pzogram change. First is because the awnirgs as was
cauld rxt handle the srxxa load on the TGI F`riday's restaurants in
the east and second is to prorunce the awnings and make them more
visible.
Chairman Gregory indicated that the cannission's general concerns
were that the red stripes on the awni.rigs and the scallops are to
strong.
Comnissioner Holden was opposed to the changes to the awnings. He
felt that with the increase in height (fran 2' to 4' ) the red stxipes
of the awnirzgs wuld be more proriounced and thus make the awnings
mrre visible. The aannission had previously appraved the red stripes
on the awnings because the awnings were not pronounced. If the
proposed changes are appraved, a precedent for others would be
established.
It was moved by Chairman Gregory, seconded by Calm.issioner Drury to
apprave this case subject to the condition that the awnings hve a
square dropped finish even with the returns and that the scallops be
rexnaved. Carried 3-1 (Catm.issioner Holden opposed).
