IV. CASES:
1. CASE NO.. 1656 SA
APPLICANT (AND ADDRESS): MARIONS, 73-241 Highway 111, Suite 3E,
Palm Desert, CA 92260
NATURE OF PROJEWAPPROVAL SOUGHT: Approval of exterior light
fixture to existing awning
LOCATION: South side of Highway 111, west of Panache
ZONE: Cl S.P.
Cam issioner Holden thought it would be fine with some type of
ground mounted flood lighting. Staff felt that the awning should
be lit from inside the awning; however, applicant, Marion Keiser,
noted that the awning was non-translucent. Ms. Keiser noted that
she could use a much smaller fluorescent tube. It did not need to
be the same size of the awning.
Commissioner Drury asked haw the electrical outlets would be used.
Chairman Gregory asked applicant to bring back plans showing how
this light fixture would be lit and where the electrical equipment
would be. Chairman Gregory added that he would prefer that the
awning be lit from inside the awning by cutting out the letters
and putting in a translucent material. It was moved by
Commissioner Drury, seconded by Cammssioner Holden, to continue
the case until applicant provides actual plans on how light
fixture will be installed.

Holden, seconded by Commissioner Drury, to deny the request.

decision is appealable to the city council with 15 days. The
following were the reasons for denial:
