NRCH 12, 1991
ZIE• PR-5
Steve Smith noted the changes made in the permeter wall, adding
the pop-outs. Chairman Gregory expressed his reservations on the
landscapi.ng plan noting that the pockets all have a different type
of planting, showing nr uniformity. He added that the pop-out
projections on the wall will eventually end up with white circles
froin watering the lawn.
Chairman Gregory added that camLission had requested that the
palms be changed to California Fan Palms, and this was not done.
The applicant noted that the awner was asking to use date palms.
Ccnmission informed hm that a plan wuld have to be pravided
shawing the use of the date palms. Chairman Gregory nrted that if
the tall date paLns were planted, all that would be seen at eye
level vauld be a forest of telephone poles. If these date palm
trees were planted, cnission caould require life size filler
planting with these trees.
Chairnlan Gregory noted that a lot of the plant material listed was
frost prone, adding that the carissa green carpet will freeze and
would be e,xtrexnely expensive.
Action•
It was moved by Comnissioner Urrutia, seconded by Camtissioner
McC;rea, to continue the landscaping plans to restudy as discussed
with camiission. Nbtion carried 5-0.
