Commissioner Gregory felt that the well around the trees should be topped with p.s . gold instead of the dirt as proposed. Commissioner Connor discussed how he felt this dirt area was awkward and thought the grass should continue up to the trunk of the trees . Commission approved the signage subject to the following conditions : 1) Two upper signs in red letters only; 2 ) Deletion of the existing small sign on the west elevation; 3) Illumination at a maximum of 4500; 4 ) Paint upper sign background area to an earth tone color complimentary to the building color. V. CA5ES : 1 . CASE NO. : APPLICANT (AND ADDRESS) : TOTAL T.V. OF CALIFORNIA, INC. , 27-700 Avenida Ballaza, Cathedral City, CA 92234 NATURE OF PROJECT/APPROVAL SOUGHT: Adjourn meeting to site for inspection of proposed antenna location LOCATION: Deep Canyon Tennis Club, 73-120 Frank Feltrop 3 . ` MINUTES ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW COMMIS5ION FEBRUARY 9 , 1993 Drive ZONE: PR-7 (S.P. ) Commission met at the Deep Canyon Tennis Club and inspected the mock-up of the satellite dish in the maintenance area. Staff ineasured the dish and found the mock-up to be a 6 ' dish instead of the proposed 8 ' and the overall height to be approximately 2 feet less than what was being requested. Commission walked around the clubhouse facility, approximately 200 to 300 yards to the south of the maintenance yard, and felt there were several areas in and around that facility which could work and would be superior aesthetically to the proposal in the maintenance yard. Mr. Fitzgerald of Total T.V. of California, Inc. indicated that he had another location in mind and presented it to the commission. As commission departed the site, this location was south of the main entrance from Highway 74 immediately inside the perimeter wall . An 8 foot dish mock-up had been installed set in a grove of mondale pine. Commission indicated that with the addition of a few trees and the color of the dish being close to the mock-up, that this location could be deemed acceptable. Mr. Fitzgerald indicated that he would file an amended application in the near future. VI . ADJOURNMENT: The meeting was adjourned at 1 :45 p.m. . / .—r-- F,• .1j9,Li, <- SMITH ` " ASSOCIATE PLANNER SS/db 4
