APPROVAL OF MINUTES: It was moved by Commissioner Urrutia, seconded by Commissioner Connor, to approve the minutes of the June 24, 1997 meeting as submitted. Motion carried 4-0, Commissioners Holden and O'Donnell Absent. III. CASES: A. Final Drawings: 1. CASE NO.: TT 23940-3 APPLICANT (AND ADDRESS): CENTURY CROWELL COMMUNITIES for SUNTERRACE, 1535 South "D" Street, San Bernardino, CA 92408; R. J. CUNNINGHAM COMPANY, 33282 Golden Lantern Street, Suite 201,Dana Point, CA 92262 1 MINUTES ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW COMMISSION JULY 8, 1997 NATURE OF PROJECT/APPROVAL SOUGHT: Approval of final landscape plans LOCATION: Sunterrace (Northwest corner of Hovley Lane East and Eldorado Drive) ZONE: PR-5 Mr. Smith explained that this item was withdrawn from the agenda in that there is a letter of approval of the landscaping plans on file from the Sunterrace Homeowners Association and changes have been made to reflect that approval. 2. CASE NO.: C 97-8 APPLICANT (AND ADDRESSI: BRINKER INTERNATIONAL c/o TRG INC. for ROMANO'S MACARONI GRILL, 1244 E. Katella Avenue, Suite 105, Orange, CA 92867 NATURE OF PROJECT/APPROVAL SOUGHT: Approval of final working drawings LOCATION: 72-920 Highway 111 ZONE: C-1 The commission reviewed the final working drawings with the representative for the applicant, Mr. Steve Lewis. Mr. Lewis indicated that the landscaping plans were not included in the final working drawings; however, assured the commission that the plans had not changed from the approved preliminary landscape plan. Commissioner Urrutia stated his concerns with not seeing the landscape plan included in the final working drawings as he wanted to see how the landscaping would integrate with the exterior elevation changes. 2 MINUTES ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW COMMISSION JULY 8, 1997 Action It was mo ed by Commissioner Van Vliet, seconded by Commissioner Connor, to approv t he final architectural plans as submitted. Final landscaping plan subject to revi and final approval by staff. Motion carried 4-0, Commissioners Holden and O'Donnell Absent. Mr. Lewis indicated to the commission that his client is discussing the possibility of changing the foot print and location of the outdoor patio and asked if he would have to come back before the commission if these changes are made. He stated that they are thinking about taking the patio off and moving it closer to Denny's to the east. Mr. Smith indicated that Mr. Lewis would have to present the changes to staff and they would then determine if it needed to go back to the commission for approval. Mr. Smith indicated that after hearing the discussions today,he understood that the commission would not be disappointed if the shading device is eliminated, and would take this into consideration. 3. CASE NO.: APPLICANT (AND ADDRESS): NRO ENGINEERING for PALM DESERT COMMUNITY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 41-555 Cook Street, Suite 1-100, Palm Desert, CA 92260 NATURE OF PROJECT/APPROVAL SOUGHT: Approval of tan colored precision block wall LOCATION: 47-321 Highway 74 ZONE: P The representative for the applicant, Mr. Noel Owsley, was present. Mr. Smith explained the proposed changes for the church and stated that the plans before the commission for approval of the tan colored precision block wall. He noted that the wall would match the existing precision block wall to the west. 3 + , ` MINUTES ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW COMMISSION JULY 8, 1997 Action It was moved by Commissioner Urrutia, seconded by Commissioner Gregory, to approve the precision block wall as submitted.
