NEW BUSINESS A. DEVELOPMENT STANDARD NO. 3 (continued) One of the main concerns of the Commission was the question of re- gulations regarding the fencing around swimming pools. The Commis- sion felt that if the standards for fencing were approved, they should include a stipulation that would require the safe fencing of pool areas. Staff agreed with the Commission and stated that the section of the development standards as pertains to pool fencing would be reworded to comply with their wishes. Chairman Wilson stated that even though this was not a public hearing, any interested members of the audience would be welcome to state their views to the Commission. LOWELL 0. WEEKS, 74-420 Covered Wagon Trail , Palm Desert, California. Mr. Weeks spoke to the Commission and strongly objected to the concept of general fencing standards. He felt that there should be a more complete set of specific standards. He also felt that too much vague authority was being given to the staff. After a brief discussion among the Commissioners and staff, it was de- cided by the Commissioners that the entire set of development standards should be revised substantially, cutting it down in length and making it more clear and concise.
