Chairperson Campbell called the meeting to order at 6:03 p.m.

IV. APPROVA� OF MINUTES
Request for consideration of the March 20, 2007 meeting minutes.
Action:
It was moved by Commissioner Tschopp, seconded by Commissioner
Tanner, approving the March 20, 2007 meeting minutes. Motion carried 5-0.
V. SUMMARY OF COUNCIL ACTION
Ms. Aylaian reviewed pertinent March 22, 2007 City Council actions.

VI. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS

VII. CONSENT CALENDAR
A. Case No. CUP 99-7 - TEMP�E SINAI, Applicant
Request for approvai of a third one-year tirne extension for the
unbuilt portion of the CUP 99-7 approval which aliowed a 1,000
sq. ft. addition and remodel of an existing church, construction
of a 12,500 square foot religious school facility, and the remodel
and conversion of a 6,400 square foot building into a permanent
structure iocated at 73-251 Hovley Lane West.
Action:
it was moved by Commissioner Tanner, seconded by Commissioner
Tschopp, approving the Consent Calendar by minute motion. Motion carried
5-0.
VIII. PUB�IC HEARWGS
Anyone who challenges any hearing matter in court may be limited to raising
only those issues he, she or someone else raised at the pubiic hearing
described herein, or in written correspondence deiivered to the Planning
Commission at, or prior to, the public hearing.
A. Case Nos. TT 35271 and TT 35272, PALM DESERT GREENS
ASSOCIATION, Applicant
(Continued from March 6, 2007)
Request for approval of two tentative tract maps to subdivide
7.58-acres into 331 iots for property at 73-750 Country Club
Drive, also more particularly described as APN's 620-272-014,
' 620-261-050, 620-251-039, 620-241-027, 620-094-026, 620-
082-035, 620-131-031, 620-141-001 and 620-151-034.
Ms. Aylaian informed Commission that staff was requesting a continuance
' to the April 17, 2007 meeting to allow the applicant to continue meeting with
, the adjoining country club (Suncrest Country Club} to see if they could
resoive some issues of mutuai interest.

Chairperson Campbell stated that the public hearing was open and asked if
anyone wished to speak in FAVOR or OPPOSITION to the matter.
MRS. MARIE BEFE�D from Suncrest Country Club, 73-450 Country
Club Drive, spoke in support of the staff recommended continuance.
There was no one eise wishing to speak and Chairperson Campbeil left the
public hearing oqen and asked for Commission action.
Action:
It was moved by Commissioner Schmidt, seconded by Commissioner
Limont, continuing Case Nos. TT 35271 and TT 35272 to Aprii 17, 2007.
Motion carried 5-0.
B. Case Nos. C/Z 06-06 and PP 06-14 - OLEN PROPERTIES
CORPORATION, Applicant
(Continued from March 6, 2007)
Request for a recommendation to the City Council for approvai
of a change of zone from Service Industriai (S.I.) to Planned
Residential 19 units per acre (PR-19), a precise plan of design
to construct 782 apartment units on 40.53 gross acres, a
height exception to allow a 35-foot 1-inch maximum roof
height, and a Negative Declaration of Environmental impact.
The property is located at the northwest corner of Dinah Shore
and Portola Avenue, 35-250 Dinah Shore drive.
Ms. Aylaian informed Commission that the staff recommendation was for a
continuance to a date uncertain. She explained that the applicant needed to
rework some significant portions of the plans as it was proposed in order to
allow for the Portola overpass project, which is currentiy in predesign with the
Department of Public Works. In order to accommodate the physical restraints
of the property, the applicant decided to regroup and revisit the design and
a continuance was being requested to a date uncertain.
Chairperson Campbell indicated that the public hearing was o en and asked
if anyone wished to speak in FAVOR or OPPOSITION to this matter. There
was no one. The public hearing was left open and Chairperson Campbeil
requested Commission action.

Action:
It was moved by Commissioner Tanner, seconded by Commissioner
Schmidt, by minute motion, continuing Case Nos. C/Z 06-06 and PP 06-14
to a date uncertain. Motion carried 5-0.
IX. MISCELLANEOUS
A. Discussion of a study session date to allow a presentation by the
Redevelopment Agency regarding long-term development goais at
Desert Wiliow, as well as Paim DeserPs Iegally mandated housing
needs.
Action:
After discussion, Commission chose May 1 at 5:00 p.m. to hold a study
session.
X. COMMITTEE MEETING UPDATES
A. ART IN PUBLIC PLACES
Chairperson Campbeli reported on the actions from the Iast AIPP
meeting.
B. LANDSCAPE COMMITTEE
Commissioner L imont said she was absent. Ms. Aylaian was able to
attend the meeting and reviewed pertinent issues.
C. PROJECT AREA 4 COMMITTEE
No meeting.
D. PARKS & RECREATION
Commissioner Tanner was unabie to attend that morning's meeting.

adjauming the meeting by minute motion. Motian carried 5-0. The meeting
