A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING APPROVAL TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF A REQUEST FOR A CHANGE OF ZONE FROM R-2-7000 TO C-P-S ON PROPERTY GENERALLY LOCATED AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE INTERSECTION OF STATE HIGHWAY 111 AND MONTEREY AVENUE. CASE NO. C/Z - 01-74-PD. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did on the 3rd of September, 1974, hold a duly noticed Public Hearing to consider a Change of Zone application, filed by H. F. AHMANSON AND COMPANY, from R-2-7000 to C-P-S on property generally located on 12.5 acres at the Northwest corner of the intersection of Highway 111 and Monterey Avenue, and more particularly described as: See Attached WHEREAS, said application has complied with the requirements of the "City of Palm Desert Environmental Quality Procedure Resolution Number 74-14", in that a final Environmental Impact Report was presented at a duly noticed Public Hearing held August 12, 1974, and said report was recommended to the City Coun- cil for certification as a final Environmental Impact Report; WHEREAS, at said public hearing, upon hearing and considering the testimony and arguments, if any, of all persons desiring to be heard, said Planning Com- mission did find the following facts and reasons to exist which make the approval of the Change of Zone necessary to carry out the provisions and general purpose of County Ordinance Number 348 (adopted by reference): 1. The proposed amendment does insure the protection of the public health, safety, and general welfare. 2. Compatibility of the proposed zone to the existing and proposed develop- ment in the area. 3. The request for a C-P-S zone is considered appropriate in light of the proposed "Interim Palm Desert Core Area Plan". NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct and constitute the findings of the commission in this case. 2. That it does hereby recommend approval to the City Council of the requested Change of Zone from R-2-7000 to C-P-S for the reasons set out in this resolution, ( -1- Resolution No. 2 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Planning Com- mission, held on 3rd day of September, 1974, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Commissioners: Hubbard, Mullins, Seidler, Van De Mark, Wilson NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None 1J C.
