HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes No 28PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 28 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, ANNOUNCING FINDINGS APPROVING AN APPEAL APPROVING THE DEVELOPMENT OF A SUBDIVISION SIGN FOR THE CORSICAN VILLAS PROJECT ON PROPERTY GENERALLY LOCATED ?TEST OF PORTOLA AVENUE AND NORTH OF VISTA DEL SOL. CASE NO. 4SA WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did receive a verified requesting approval of the R-2-8000 Zone, and of the City of Palm Desert appeal application from KAVANAUGH PROPERTIES a subdivision sign on property located in situated west of Portola Avenue and north of Vista Del Sol, the property being more particularly described as: Tract 4605, a portion of the SE4 of Section 29, T.5S., R.6E., S.B.B.&M. WHEREAS, said application has complied with the require- ments of the "City of Palm Desert Environmental Quality Procedure Resolution Number 74-14", in that the project was classified under Ordinance No. 43 as a ministerial act and is therefore exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act, and; WHEREAS, on December 10, 1974, the Architectural Review Board did consider this request for subdivision sign approval; and WHEREAS, at this time, upon receiving and considering the testimony and arguments, if any, of all persons who desired to be heard, the Planning Commission does find the following facts and reasons to exist to approve the appeal and aoDrove the requested sign subject to conditions. 1. Modifications as approved would be to the general wel- fare of the community. 2. The approved sign is much more compatible with the pro- posed and existing development in the area. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert as follows: RESOLUTION NO. 28 1. That the above recitations are true and correct and constitute the findings of the commission in this case. 2. That it does hereby approve the appeal and approve the subdivision signs subject to the attached conditions on Case No. 4SA. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert, held on December 30, 1974 by the following vote, to wit: AYES: SEIDLER, MULLINS, VAN DE MARK, WILSON NOES: NONE ABSENT: HUBBARD ABSTAIN: NONE t/4iIAM �L R. SE , ATTEST: PAUL A. WILLIAMS, Secretary airman CONDITION OF APPROVAL CASE # 4SA 1. All existing subdivision signs on property shall be removed; with the exception of the existing monument sign. 2. Proposed subdivision sign may be located as shown and be a maximum of 6' x 6' or 5' x 7', with a founda- tion not to exceed 4' above the average grade within a radius of 100'. 3. Sign will be constructed out of materials as shown, with the background of the sign being "off white" to match the structures, and the words "compare", "models ahead," and "back to models" deleted. 4. No illumination shall be permitted.
