A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT,
CALIFORNIA, SETTING FORTH IT S FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDING TO THE
CITY COUNCIL, DENIAL OF A 12-MONTH EXTENSION OF TENTATIVE MAP TO
ALLOW FOR DEVELOPMENT OF A RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT OF 826 UNITS ON
65 ACRES OF LAND, GENERALLY LOCATED NEAR THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF
HOMESTEAD ROAD AND HIGHWAY 74. CASE NO. TT 5567
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert, did receive
a verified application from E. W. WRIGHT for Mercury Enterprises, Inc. requesting
approval of a 12-month extension of a tentative map on 65 acres of land, located
in the R-1-8000 & R-2-7000 zones and situated new the southeast corner of
Homestead and Highway 74, more particularly described as:
Portion of NE4, Section 31, T5S, R6E, SBB & M
WHEREAS, said application has complied with the requirements of the
"City of Palm Desert Environmental Quality Procedure Resolution No. 74-14".
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did take into consideration the
Tentative Map as submitted, and the reports of the various reviewing agencies; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did find that the subject Tentative Map
does not substantially comply with the proposed Palm Desert Zoning Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did find that the subject map does
comply with the Palm Desert General Plan, but did also find a more appropriate
Development Plan and Tentative Map should be required.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City
of Palm Desert as follows: (1) that the above recitations are true and correct
and constitute the findings of the Commission in this case; (2) that it does
hereby recommend denial to the City Council of the City of Palm Desert to the
above described Tentative Map No. 5567.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at an adjourned meeting of the Palm Desert
Planning Commission held on November il, 1975 by the following vote:
