HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes No 176PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 176 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, FINDING THAT THE PROPOSED USE OF THE WHITEWATER RIVER STORM CHANNEL BY THE DESERT SANDS UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT IS IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE ADOPTED PALM DESERT GENERAL PLAN. WHEREAS, Sections 65401 and 65402 (a) of the Government Code of the State of California require that proposed public works shall be submitted to the City Planning Agency for review and report to said official agency as to conformity with the adopted General Plan or part thereof; and, WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has received a notice that the Coachella Valley County Water District has authorized the Desert Sands Unified School District to use a 15.8 acre portion of the Whitewater River Storm Channel for recreational purposes in conjunction with the operation of the future high school, located west of Cook Street and adjacent to the future high school site; and, WHEREAS, said project has been reviewed and has been found to be in conformance to the adopted Palm Desert General Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct and constitute the findings of the Commission in this case. 2. That it does hereby find that the attached project is in compliance with the Adopted Palm Desert General Plan. 3. That specific development plans for this recreational area conform to the guidelines of City Resolution No. 75-32, regarding the development of a regional park system in the Whitewater Channel. PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Palm Desert Planning Commission held on the 31st day of August, 1976, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: BERKEY, KELLY, MILLS, VAN DE MARK, WILSON NOES: NONE ABSENT NONE ABSTAIN: NONE A7ST: �./ 6IROY WILS , CHAIRMAN;/ PAUL.
