HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes No 190PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO.190 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING APPROVAL TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF A REQUEST FOR A CHANGE OF ZONE, FROM R-1-12,000 (COUNTY) TO (UA) O.S. AND (UA) S.I.,S.P., ON PROPERTY GENERALLY LOCA- TED ON THE WEST SIDE OF COOK STREET AND 3,300 FEET NORTH OF THE WHITEWATER STORM CHANNEL. CASE NO. C/Z 06-76 WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did on the 4th day of November, 1976, hold a duly noticed Public Hearing to consider a Change of Zone application, initiated by the Palm Desert City Council, from R-1-12,000 (County) to (UA) 0.S. and (UA) S.I.,S.P., on a 121-acre site generally located on the west side of Cook Street, 3,300 feet northerly of the Whitewater River Storm Channel, and more particularly described as: APN 621-240-003 WHEREAS, said application has complied with the requirements of the "City of Palm Desert Environmental Quality Procedure Resolution Number 74-14", in that a final Environmental Impact Report is being processed through the County of Riverside and the Planning Commission does accept the County of Riverside as the lead agency; and, WHEREAS, at said Public Hearing, upon hearing and considering the testi- mony and arguments, if any, of all persons desiring to be heard, said Planning Commission did find the following facts and reasons to exist which make the ap- proval of the Change of Zone necessary to carry out the provisions and general purpose of the Palm Desert Zoning Ordinance: 1. The proposed pre -zoning is consistent with the adopted Palm Desert General Plan. 2. The proposed pre -zoning is consistent with existing and proposed development in the area. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert, California, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct and constitute the findings of the Commission in this case; 2. That it does hereby recommend approval to the City Council of the requested Change of Zone from R-1-12,000 (County) to (UA) 0.S. and (UA) S.I., S.P., as indicated on the attached recommended Ordinance, for the reasons set out in this resolution. Planning Commission Resolution No. 190 PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED at a special meeting of the Planning Com- mission of the City of Palm Desert, California, held on the 4th day of November, 1976, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: KELLY, MILLS, VAN DE MARK, WILSON NOES: NONE ABSENT: NONE ABSTAIN: BERKEY ATTEST: PAUL A.
