HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes No 324PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 324 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT PLAN- NING COMMISSION SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING FOR JANUARY 31, 1978, TO CONSIDER A ZONING ORDI- NANCE AMENDMENT TO PROVIDE FOR THE UTILIZATION OF MOBILE HOMES AS HOUSING FOR AGRICULTURAL WORKERS BY TEMPORARY USE PERMIT, ONLY AS AN ACCESSORY USE ON PROPERTY IN ANY ZONE WHERE AGRICULTURE IS THE MAIN USE OF THE PROPERTY. ZOA NO. 01-78 WHEREAS, the City has several acres of date groves, and; WHEREAS, the General Plan encourages the preservation of those date groves to the greatest extent possible, and; WHEREAS, the Planning Commission believes that the provision for agricultural workers housing as a part of the existing date groves may extend the life of said groves in conformance with the General Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert, as follows: 1. A Public Hearing is hereby set to consider an amendment to Chapter 25.64 of the Palm Desert Municipal Code, to provide for the establishment of temporary housing and mobile homes for agricultural workers by temporary use permits, when it is related to the production of existing date groves, subject to the limitation of annual review of said temporary use permit. 2. Said Hearing is set for 7:00 p.m., January 31, 1978, and the Secretary is hereby instructed to provide for the necessary notices to conduct said Hearing. PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED at -a regular meeting of the Palm Desert Planning Commission on this 3rd day of January, 1978, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: BERKEY, KELLY, KRYDER, READING, SNYDER NOES: NONE ABSENT: NONE ABSTAIN: NONE GEORGE BERKEY, Chaiifman ATTEST: PAUL A.
