HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes No 437PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 437 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, FORWARDING A CONCERN TO THE CITY COUNCIL WITH REGARD TO FUTURE FIRE PROTECTION NORTH OF THE WHITEWATER STORM CHANNEL AND SUGGESTING A RE-EVALUATION OF THE CITY'S NEW CONSTRUCTION TAX. WHEREAS, the City is confronted with a tremendous amount of potential development north of the Whitewater Storm Channel; and, WHEREAS, a new fire facility is proposed at the intersection of Country Club Drive and Cook Street by the City's General Plan; and, WHEREAS, the City Council is embarking upon a long-term financial analysis for the City; and, WHEREAS, the Commission believes that it is essential that such facilities be available in concert with said development; and, WHEREAS, such facilities are normally developed with the City's New Construction Tax. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission by re- questing that the Council re-evaluate the City's New Construction Tax to make certain that the City will have the necessary Public Facilities in the area to accommodate the new development occurring in this area. PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Palm Desert Planning Commission, held this 5th day of December, 1978, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Berkey, Fleshman, Kelly, Kryder, Snyder NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None r (_ GLORIA KELLY, Chairman ATTEST: '(;= PAUL A.
