HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes No 569PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION N0. 56g A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, ANNOUNCING FINDINGS AND GRANTING AN AMENDMENT TO THE APPROVED DESIGN REVIEW CASE ON PROPERTY GENERALLY LOCATED ON THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF ALESSANDRO DRIVE AND CABRILLO AVENUE. CASE NO. 159 MF WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Palm Desert Zoning Ordinance, the Planning Commission did on January 16, 1980, assume authority over the case to consider a request from FRANK OLIVER to modify the exterior wall materials for a 102 pupil pre-school located in the R-3 (4) zone and situated at the northwest corner of Alessandro Drive and Cabrillo Drive and more particularly described as: APN 625-082-022 APN 625-082-023 WHEREAS, said application was reviewed and denied by the Design Review Board at the meeting of December 11, 1979; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission assumed authority over the case by majority vote of the Commission; and, WHEREAS, at said meeting, said Commission did find the following facts and reasons to exist to justify the granting of said amendment: 1. That the proposed change from masonite lap siding to stucco siding will be architecturally compatible with the pre-school. 2. That the proposed change will provide an exterior covering that will be more durable and provide better insulating qualities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct and constitute the findings of the Commission in this case. 2. That it hereby approves an amendment to change the exterior covering from masonite lap siding to stucco siding for the reasons stated above. PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Palm Desert Planning Commission held on this 16th day of January, 1979, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Berkey, Kryder, Miller, Snyder NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None WALTER ,�� SNYDER, Chai man ATTEST: PAUL A.
