HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes No 589PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 589 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, INITIATING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CITY'S SIGN ORDINANCE RELATIVE TO THE CRITERIA FOR DIRECTIONAL SIGNS TO BE USED FOR COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS WITH COURTYARD OR PLAZA TENANTS. CASE N0. ZOA 02-80 WHEREAS, the Planning Commission observes that the City Municipal Code, Title 25, Chapter 68, (Sign Ordinance) does not specifically address directional signs for commercial buildings with courtyard or plaza tenants; and, WHEREAS, the Planning Commission deems that it is desirable to consider a specific criteria for said sign type; and, WHEREAS, Municipal Code, Section 25.82.020, provides that the Planning Commission may initiate amendments to the said Title for purpose of recommendation to the City Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert, California, as follows: 1. That it does hereby initiate consideration of an amendment to Municipal Code, Title 25, Chapter 68, relative to the criteria for directional signs for commercial buildings with courtyard or plaza tenants. 2. That the Commission does hereby direct the Secretary to establish a Public Hearing for such purpose on June 3, 1980, at the regular meeting of the Commission. PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Palm Desert Planning Commission, held on this 16th day of April, 1980, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: BERKEY, KRYDER, MILLER, MCLACHLAN, SNYDER NOES: NONE ABSENT: NONE ABSTAIN: NONE ATTEST: PAUL A.
