HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes No 0971PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 971 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL OF A CHANGE OF ZONE FROM R-2 TO R-3 ON THE WEST SIDE OF SAN RAFAEL AVENUE, APPROXIMATELY 220 FEET NORTH OF SAN GORGONIO WAY. CASE NO. C/Z 84-4 WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert, California, did on the 3rd day of July, 1984, hold a duly noticed public hearing and continued public hearing on June 19, 1984, to consider a request by STAN F. LITTLE for approval of a change of zone from R-2 and R-3 for approximately 39,000 square feet located on the west side of San Rafael Avenue, approximately 220 feet north of San Gorgonio Way, more particularly described as: Lots 3 and 4, Blk 7, Palma Village Unit 5 WHEREAS, said application has complied with the requirements of the "City of Palm Desert Procedure for Implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act, Resolution No. 80-89", in that the director of environmental services has determined that the project will not have an adverse impact on the environment and a Negative Declaration has been prepared. WHEREAS, at said public hearing, upon hearing and considering all testimony and arguments, if any, of all interested persons desiring to be heard, said planning commission did find the following facts to justify their actions, as described below: 1. The project is consistent with the general plan and compatible with the surrounding area. 2. The site is physically suitable for the type of development and the proposed density is suitable. 3. The project would not be detrimental to the public health, safety, and general welfare. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by Palm Desert, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true of the commission in these cases. 2. That the Planning Commission does approval of a change of zone from Exhibit "A". 3. That a Negative recommended. PASSED, APPROVED and Planning Commission, held on this the Planning Commission of the City of and correct and constitute the findings hereby recommend to the City Council R-2 to R-3, as shown on the attached Declaration of Environmental Impact is hereby ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Palm Desert 3rd day of July, 1984, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: DOWNS, ERWOOD, RICHARDS, WOOD NOES: NONE ABSENT: CRITES ABSTAIN: NONE ATTEST: t (K4ON A.
