HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes No 1039PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1039 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL OF A GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT FOR 12.5 ACRES OF LAND BOUNDED BY THE PALM VALLEY STORM CHANNEL, EL PASEO, PAINTERS PATH, AND HIGHWAY 111. CASE NO. GPA 85-3 WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert, California, did on the 7th day of May, 1985, hold a duly noticed public hearing to consider a general plan amendment to change the land use designation from core area commercial and related uses to medium density residential (5-7 dwelling units per acre) and a negative declaration of environmental impact, for 12.5 acres located on land bounded by the Palm Valley Storm Channel, El Paseo, Painters Path, and Highway 111, more particularly described as: APN 629-060-084 629-022-006 WHEREAS, said application has complied with the requirements of the "City of Palm Desert Procedure for Implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act, Resolution No. 80-89", in that the director of environmental services has determined that the project will not have an adverse impact on the environment and a negative declaration of environmental impact has been prepared; and WHEREAS, at said public hearing, upon hearing and considering all testimony and arguments, if any, of all interested persons desiring to be heard, said planning commission did find the following facts and reasons to exist to justify recommending approval of this request: General Plan Amendment: 1. The general plan amendment would be in conformance with the existing zoning. 2. The amendment would be compatible with the existing zoning and development across Painters Path, and other surrounding properties. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct and constitute the findings of the commission in these cases; 2. That the planning commission does hereby recommend to the city council approval of a general plan amendment from core area commercial to medium density residential per attached exhibit 'A.' 3. That a Negative Declaration of Environmental Impact is hereby recommended for approval. PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Palm Desert Planning Commission, held on this 7th day of May, 1985, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: DOWNS, ERWOOD, WOOD, AND CRITES NOES: NONE ABSENT: RICHARDS ABSTAIN: NONE BUFOP.D✓CRIT S, Chairman AT OP RAMON A.
