HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes No 1234PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION N0. 1234 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, DENYING APPROVAL OF PRECISE PLAN 16-83 AMENDMENT #1 LOCATED ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF LENNON PLACE BETWEEN ECLECTIC AND CORPORATE WAY. CASE NO. PP 16-83 Amendment #1 WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert, California, did on the 5th day of May, 1987, hold a duly noticed public hearing to consider the request of PALM DESERT DISPOSAL for a negative declaration of environmental impact and approval of a seven acre expansion to existing parking and storage facilities and a second story 5400 square foot addition to an existing structure; and WHEREAS, said public hearing was continued to June 2, 1987, in order to permit the applicant to prepare for the commission a report identifying the long range plans of applicant relating to trash collection and other activities within the valley; and WHEREAS, at said public hearing, upon hearing and considering all testimony and arguments, if any, of all interested persons desiring to be heard, said planning commission did find the following facts and reasons to justify their actions, as described below: 1. Palm Desert Disposal was unable to provide to the commission's satisfaction the information requested on May 5, 1987. 2. Without said information a majority of the commission was unable to properly determined if the proposed expansion was appropriately designed to address the concerns voiced by adjoining property owners and the property owners association. 3. Because positive findings could not be met a majority of the commission felt that approval of the request should not be granted. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert, California, as follows: 1. The requested Precise Plan Amendment is denied approval, and development or construction of any part thereof is also denied. PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION N0. 1234 PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Palm Desert Planning Commission, held on this 16th day of June, 1987, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: LADOW, RICHARDS, AND WHITLOCK NOES: ERWOOD ABSENT: DOWNS ABSTAIN: NONE ATTEST: RAMON A.
