HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes No 1274PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1274 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING O M4ISSION OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, REOCNMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL OF A CHANGE OF ZONE FOR 34 ACRES OF LAND AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF COOK STREET AND HOVLEY LANE. CASE NO. C/Z 87-5 WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert, California, did on the 19th day of January, 1988, hold a duly noticed public hearing to consider a request by TRIAD PACIFIC DEVELOPMENT for approval of a change of zone to amend the zoning map from Planned Residential, 5 dwelling units per gross acre, to Planned Residential, 9 dwelling units per gross acre, for the easterly 25 acre portion of the project site; and to amend the zoning map from Planned Residential, 5 dwelling units per acre, to Office Professional for the westerly 9 acre portion of the project site; and WHEREAS, said application has complied with the requirements of the "City of Palm Desert Procedure for Implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act, Resolution No. 80-89," in that an Environmental Impact Report has been prepared which concludes that all project impacts can be mitigated. Mitigation measures are included as conditions of approval; and WHEREAS, at said public hearing, upon hearing and considering all testimony and arguments, if any, of all interested persons desiring to be heard, said planning commission did find the following facts to justify a recommendation of approval: 1. The proposed zoning is consistent with the current zoning and development patterns, the proposed Palm Desert General Plan for the area and the proposed North Sphere Specific Plan. 2. The proposed zoning protects the public health, safety and general welfare. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct and constitute the findings ndi ngs of the commission in this case. 2. That Exhibit "B" attached hereto delineating the area and the proposed zoning for the area is hereby recommended for approval.
