HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes No 1286PLANNINU 0 ttussIoN RESOLurioN NO. 1286 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING TO CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL OF A DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT RELATING TO CITY ASSISTANCE FOR A LOW INCOME SENIOR HOUSING PROJECT. CASE NO. DA 88-1 WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert, California, did on the 5th day of April, 1988, hold a duly noticed public hearing to consider a Senior Housing Development Agreement between the City of Palm Desert and Cable and Rylee concerning city participation in a 60 unit low income senior housing project; WHEREAS, at said public hearing, upon hearing and considering all testimony and arguments, if any, of all interested persons desiring to be heard, said planning ccmnission did find the following facts and reasons to exist to justify a recamiendation of approval: 1. The proposed agreement is consistent with the goals of providing affordable senior citizen housing as described in the City of Palm Desert Housing Element, Palma Village Specific Plan and the Senior Housing Overlay. 2. The proposed project is an appropriate use of the Senior Housing In -Lieu Fee Fund. 3. The proposed agreement provides the city with sufficient security in the form of real property to protect the city's financial interest in the project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert, California, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct and constitute the findings of the commission in this case. 2. That DA 88-1 Exhibit "A" is hereby recommended for approval to city council. PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Palm Desert Planning Commission, held on this 19th day of April, 1988, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: LADLOW, WHITLOCK, ERWOOD NOES: NONE ABSENT: DOWNS, RICHARDS ABSTAIN: NONE AT1`hST : G RAMON A.
